What these episodes are all about.

Episode 21
.

.
Hikari met Aoi, an employee of the Takishima Group, who is in Japan to investigate Kei for his grandfather to see if Kei is getting the sufficient education in Hakusen. Hikari helped him out, thinking that it can put Kei’s grandfather’s worries to rest since Kei is thriving in Hakusen with SA. Of course, Aoi ended up concluding that Hakusen was not a suitable place for Kei and said that he will start the necessary arrangements to bring Kei to London. When Hikari couldn’t believe it, he took her around Tokyo to show him all the responsibilities that Kei had as the heir to the Takishima Group. Dense as always, Hikari was impressed with Takishima’s achievements and said that she will have to work harder now that she realizes that her rival already has been doing so much. then Aoi made it clear to her that the reason why he is pulling Kei out of Hakusen is because he does not see the school as a suitable place for a world-class talent and genius like Kei and that she shouldn’t even try calling herself his rival. He warned her to stay away from Kei because he didn’t want to see her hurt. Kei, who got a call from Akira saying that Aoi was in town, followed them and saved Hikari from Aoi. When he got her home, she asked if he really was going to London. When he said that he plans to stay in Hakusen until graduation, she admitted that she was really worried at the thought of leaving. Kei told her that it may be because she feels romantically towards him.

No, really… seriously. What’s with that face?
.
I guess Aoi will never have a good side in the anime – kinda like how Yahiro has been depicted in earlier episodes when he would even go to the extent of fulfilling random thugs requests of harassing SA. Anyway, I thought that this would have been a promising start for arc, but knowing that it’s only a couple of episodes away, it just seems to be a more harried version of how things would come out.

Episode 22
.

Lemme guess… as crayoned by GONZO and AIC.
.
Hikari was still bothered about what Kei said the night he saved her from Aoi. She ended up telling everyone in SA while Kei wasn’t there. Then everyone (including herself) started noticing that she is the only member of SA who calls Kei by his last name. Considering how close everyone is, they should all be on first name basis. Kei realizes what she was doing and invited her on a date to an amusement park where she has been uneasy about her feelings about him. In the end, he ended up apologizing to her about harassing her and making her come into terms with her feelings. Hikari ended up kissing her on his head and realized that the reason why she can’t call him by his first name is because when she does, feelings of love overflow (what the fuck? O_O). They were interrupted by a phone call from Tadashi and Hikari was in the bathroom where she overheard a just dumped girl saying that the first person to fall in love is always the loser – which of course, Hikari cannot accept.
Meanwhile, Aoi convinced the headmaster of the school to shut down SA.

Let’s chain the pathway that leads to the greenhouse because students will not dare step on the grass. Ooooh grass… -_- I don’t really see the point of this.
.
I really don’t get it. Manga aside, has Hikari already realized that she was in love with Kei at that point? The slow progression of the episodes made it seem like Hikari is only at the point of starting to fall in love with Kei, which is kinda weak. The TadashiXAkira and MegumiXYahiro pairings was understandable to have come out of nowhere, but the KeiXHikari pairing has been a standing premise of the story since the first episode so the build-up was a fail in my books.
Anyway, because of Hinano’s continuation of blogging the Special A manga, I am also trying to pick up where I left off with the manga. I stopped reading it because I figured that anime sucked and I just lost interest in the manga altogether. But of course, the manga is far between and not all chapters have been scanlated. Or have I just been looking at the wrong places?

Oddly enough, I seem to be enjoying this series, mainly because of all the lolz. I kinda feel sorry for Ke-ke-Kei because Hikari is sooooo slow to realize her feelings for him. ^^;

@hazy: O_O did i trash the post so much??? i didn’t realize it. but yeah, hikari and kei are not my favorite pairing like they were at the beginning of the episode. i can’t deny that it’s still a guilty pleasure of mine, but i really feel like they wasted so much.

Lol, nope. I enjoy watching it although I do complain about it too. There are some episodes I think they could’ve done without. I’d like to see more of Yahiro and Megumi, but I doubt that’ll happen since 24 is the last. Must continue to read Hinano’s post on the manga to pick out which chapters to read and skip. xD

@hazy: actually, you might be pleasantly surprised about a certain pairing at episode 24. you’re right… i also do the same thing with hinano’s posts. know the chapters to read… but she’s the one who scanlates them so those chapters are not floating about yet

Ohoho~ I wonder what pairing that is… I will look forward to your final SA post.^^

@hazy: that pairing is just a cameo and latest oh-so-shortly, but made me squee more than hikari and kei did. >.>
