Natsume Yuujinchou 11 ~Nyanko’s Book of Boredom~

A drunk cat is fine too.

At the accumulation of a lot of little things, Natsume and Nyanko had a fight and Nyanko ends up running away from home after calling Natsume a white asparagus. He went to Eight Fields where he overheard the youkai who lived in the place complaining about him and how the only reason why they tolerate him is because Natsume protected the land before for them. Needless to say, he beat the crap out of them and went to the Buddhist temple owned by Tanuma’s father and told them to cleanse the land since there are a lot of ayakashi in the place.

The economy is so bad, even household pets are concerned.

She went to town where he encountered Natsume’s friends and squeezed them out of their monthly allowances for food and arcade games in his human form. Natsume’s adoptive parents noticed Nyanko’s absence. He realizes that Nyanko’s already loved by his family.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m bad at figurative language. But why a whte asparagus???

.

The next morning, Natsume returned a CD to his friend (which he had to buy again because it was one of the things that Nyanko broke) and they told him about the strange girl who declared herself as Natsume’s sensei. Natsume just smiled and asked them to hell him about her. While bitching on a tree, an ayakashi came to Natsume and asked him if he really broke ties with Natsume. He declared that Natsume is now free and that he will be taking the Yuujinchou from him. Nyanko beat him off and decided to come back home.

When Natsume got home, a kitten greeted him. The kitten warmed up to him quickly and Nyanko saw it all and just left again. He ended up drinking in Eight Fields and woke up with a terrible hangover and hungry. He was trying to hunt for some birds when he fell off a cliff.

Probably because you listen to teeny-booper stuff like this. And apparently, Sasada is a trap.

He found a little girl (it was the same girl that Natsume met earlier who was supposed to go on a picnic with his family) there. She said that that she was in a picnic alone because her parents went out for business again. When it started to rain, she tried to protect Nyanko because she heard that if rabbits get wet, they die and she feared the same thing that the same thing will happen to Nyanko. She finally lulled to sleep and he started to wonder why humans, as weak as they are, would go to many lengths to protect others. And then he realized that she was a lot like Natsume.

I never heard of the rabbit bit, but I hear that it happens to cats. Which is why grandmother never let me bathe my cat.

He transformed into his true form and carried off the little girl to the nearest police station. Then he found Natsume walking in the streets looking for him. He proceeded to follow after him.

The episode was not as enjoyable as I expected it to be – especially since Natsume Yuujinchou has always been able to come up with strong, heart-warming episodes. But there was something annoying about the episode… probably either the little girl. Well, it was either I didn’t find it that enjoyable or I’m just really not so into cats right now (my cat made a scratching post of my torso -_-‘” It stings.)

It didn’t really do anything else but to enhance the story except to present the point that like most people, Natsume and Nyanko will fight and make up. I think it’s not one of those things that they should be tapping into so late in the season since it’s already been established that Nyanko and Natsume have disagreements and they are taken into stride since they are that close already. I think this would have been a more meaningful episode if it happened earlier in the season.
