Itazura na Kiss 25 ~Hello♥Again~ (END)

DISCLAIMER: If you are looking for a decent summary for this episode, you have come to the wrong place. This is an episode I would have skipped if it wasn’t for the fact that this is the last episode.

Why did they ever release this episode?

.

Naoki, Kotoko and Kotomi were on a train traveling to Kyuushuu. When Kotomi asked if they were near her great-grandfather’s place, Naoki said yes and told Kotoko to make sure that she tells him when she sees him again.

.

Naoki + Kotoko = monkey girl with no shoes and swings from one chair to another.

.

So this is generally a flashback episode a little before Naoki and Kotoko got married. They traveled to Kyuushuu. Kotoko thought that they were going to a romantic vacation somewhere, but they ended up in the Isshiki ancestral home, Naoki’s parents on the mother’s side.

Well, I think it’s confirmed. Brains and looks ran on Irie-papa’s side. The whole being-an-asshole definitely came from this side.

.

After being introduced to the family, she was immediately criticized by Naoki’s cousins and was given a hard time by Naoki’s grandfather who didn’t like her for a grand-daughter. He made her work the farm. She was being harassed by the rest of the family, even to the point where she was told some hacked-up story about being the curse wife of the 10th generation of the Isshiki clan. Naoki ended up admitting to her that he brought her there because he wanted her to meet the family and see the home where he was born. And with grandpa assisting her, she as able to pwn her future cousins.

What the-Irie-papa had hair??? Sorry. I got so distracted I failed to point out that Naoki was a loli-goth with the most eff-ed up face in the world when he was still a baby. I guess, Irie-mama is to blame for that.

.

The cousins were ready to accept her, but the grandfather still refused and thought up some crazy scheme that in order to be accepted into the family, Kotoko should pick some fruit, which I am so not in the mood to reference the anime to know, for them. So she went and, of course, got lost in the woods where grandpa saved her, told her where the fruit was planted and made her promise to bring back their baby for a visit. Naoki came to find her since it was too dark already.

Atta boy, Naoki! That’s the way to support the girl you suddenly fell in love with for no apparent reason out of the blue.

.

When they got back, she had a hoard of fruit and thanked grandpa for his help. But it wasn’t him who helped her but the spirit of an older grandfather who cursed the wife of the 10th generation that would come in the Isshiki family. Actually, it’s pretty obvious that the cousins faked everything , but Kotoko is just that gullible.

I don’t think this is something a typical Japanese to-be housewife ought to be announcing to the family of her future husband.

.

Back at the present, Naoki, Kotoko and Kotomi were walking on their way to the Isshiki home. Kotomi tripped and fell down, much like her mother. But she was approached by her great-great-blahblahblah-grandfather whom Kotomi laughed with.

Thus endeth this retarded episode.

.

Thoughts:

I take everything I said about Kotoko not having any special talents!!! She has one. She has ESP!

Now this was a waste of an episode.

Seriously, I cannot fanthom why they had to make this episode. For one thing, it’s totally flawed. When Naoki proposed to Kotoko, Irie-mama booked the wedding hall (or church) the following Sunday. There was no way in hell she and Naoki would be able to spend two weeks in Kyuushuu to gain his family on the mother side’s approval. According to some reports (trolled subs of this show), this is not found in the manga and is the animator’s attempt to make an original story.

And another thing, it’s… seriously a shitty episode. I enjoyed the show much better when they ended the show on Episode 24, where all the loose ends (well, not so much) were tied up with all the other characters of the show. It wasn’t even funny. I had a much better laugh watching the trolled version of this episode (by a sub group called m.3.0.w.) called Itazura na Kiss OVgAy.

To be honest, I think this episode ruined the high note last episode presented the ending of the series.

Overall Impression and Final Thoughts:

OK, I’m not gonna mince words. This is one of the most stupid shows I have ever seen. If anyone asks me, I woudl describe this show to be about a girl with no pride who is hopeless and hopelessly in love with some dude. And yet, one of the most enjoyable and the most addictive one. Considering that this show has less than stellar art compared other anime within it’s genre, the idiotic female lead and the tsunderella, it has incredible appeal to the people who stuck by it – including myself.

I hated the characters. Kotoko is a brainless, non-progressive character who believes that she will get everything she wants in life if she only wished hard enough for it. She’s a terrible role model to kids everywhere and you should be at least 18 to watch this because you might end up believing it. Naoki is an annoying, stoic ass who, for some reason, had the most character development among the entire cast. He turned from a passionless, stoic ass with no sense of humor to a mildly-passionate, stoic ass with a fledging sense of humor. As much as I didn’t like either of them, they just sort of grew on me. This show is seriously the crack cocaine of shoujo anime. Actually, the most awesome character in this show would be Irie-mama, who never faltered on the things she wanted and worked hard for it. So what if what she wanted was not necessarily something that her own children wanted from themselves.

This show epitomizes the definition of “suspension of disbelief” in the shoujo genre. With all the elements that makes any 12-year old squeal, this show presents that you can make anyone fall in love with you if you did nothing but wish hard for it… and that you can stay in your in-laws’ house forever because you can’t cook and is in danger of killing off your entire family.

genetics, natures way of saying ’screw you’

@evildevil: geh… naoki received all dominant genes, but dominant genes do not always equate superior genes XD

I agree this episode was retarded.

It WAS in the manga, but it happened a bit after they got married. Keyword: AFTER

Meaning, you’re mistaken if you think it’s before their marriage.

It was pointless to put it in the end of the series. Everything about Naoki changing into a decent human being at the end of the series just fucking went back on itself with this BS of an episode. It’s srsly like telling us… no, Naoki is always hateful.

    BS episode. I hated it.

@dubbykinz: as i said, i’ve never read the manga. i just find it odd that they’d ask for the family’s approval after they were married.

Haha, I would’ve skipped this one too if it wasn’t the last… Although I shall pretend that I never saw this episode and that episode 24 was indeed the final episode. :D

  6. biankita said

@hazy: ROFL… i can’t skip this because 1. it’s the last episode 2. it’s so retarded, it needed to be trolled. but yes, i am going to tell anyone who asks that this is 24 episodes and one retarded episode 25.

They should have labeled it an OVA. This episode should not be a part[or should I say Finale] of a good series. Anyways, I find this episode interesting. ^^

@Arachnicus: interesting was not the word i was looking for. let’s just say… i finally started liking the show after the rain scene, then they reminded me of the reason why i hated the show in the first place X_X
