Skip Beat 01 ~And The Box Was Opened~
Posted by biankita on October 18, 2008
This is the story of Kyoko…
.

.
Kyoko is a rabid fangirl of her childhood friend, Sho.
So much is her fangirl-ism that that she skipped high school and moved to Tokyo in order to look after him when he went there to seek fame as an idol. They moved in to an expensive apartment where Kyoko cooks and cleans and works two jobs in order to pay the rent. Martyr… She scrimps and saves everything, depriving herself about the things that she wants like make-up, in order to support Sho.
.

.
But Fuwa Sho is a deadbeat. He couldn’t even give her a free CD of his album and the poster that came with it. Nay! She had to buy it (the CD) herself and demand for one (the poster). And if he couldn’t do that, there was no way in hell he contributed to household expenses or even clean after himself. He is shallow, conscious of his own popularity and his obsession with defeating and overthrowing the number one idol in Japan. Kyoko hates Ren too… just because he’s the number one idol.
.

.
After walking out on her, after being pissed at seeing Ren is the number one – like that’s even her fault (*roll eyes*), Kyoko went to Studio Beat where Sho was recording his album and she overheard a conversation of Sho complaining to his manager about Kyoko. That she was annoying and irritating and the only reason why he brought her with him to Tokyo was because he’s unable to take care of himself.
.

.
Hearing this, the Pandora’s Box inside Kyoko opens and she completely loses it. She attacks Sho and announced that she wanted revenge. But Sho said before she was carted away by the guards that the only way for her to defeat him is to join show business and have a larger career than he did.
.

.
After that, she went to a salon and cut and dyed her hair, and went on her way on her plan to defeat Sho.
.
Thoughts:
I love this show!!! The fact that I know nothing about this series, it had me at Inuoe Marina who I love, love, love from Toshokan Sensou. I’ve been reading spoilers so much that I ended up picking the manga. I don’t even understand how I ended up writing a summary like this. -_-”
I’m just not so thrilled about Kyoko’s orange hair though… or the fact that she isn’t even attending high school (the education is free damn it!). Sorry, I’m one of those fools who do not believe in the university of life unless you’re a bazillionaire. I just thought, if you had an education, you would have better choices than to be with deadbeats. Choices like… going for the biggest jock or the skinny nerd who will be the richest bazillionaire ever after he discovers the formula to cold fusion. Call me elitist and all… I am severely allergic to people who drop education to run around chasing after a guy.
Anyway, I thought this show will never get subbed, but it did. So Chihiro is the most awesome subbers at the mo. I am so going to pick up this show.

w00t, Skip Beat!
…is what I’d like to say. It’s rather okay at the moment, but I’m just waiting for the revenge to be kicked into high gear *devil horns*

@issa-sa: i am enjoying the series. again, all of usagijen’s pimping got to me. but yeah, i’m looking forward to the revenge.
@evildevil: re: fangirl – he was the one who invited her. ; re:bill gates – his family was already rich to begin with… plus, i’m not talking about college. i’m talking about mandatory education until high school. a person should at least know that much.

then he must be a brave man to invite psy… errr.. i mean a nice girl… yeah…
“is family was already rich to begin with”
upper class wealthy, true, but then he earned his own money by becoming bazillionaire… I bet he lords it in front of his family…

survival of the fittest/smartest, if they are too dumb to go to school, they are dumb enough to die…

Glad you liked this too!! *__* Prepare to be amazed once this series gets to the more awesome awesome parts! The author is a sheer genius, I say. And since things are looking good for this adaptation, well, I’m expecting the anime to be really awesome as well!

I almost didn’t watch this because I found ep 1 to be a little lacking. Good thing I saw ep 2 right after. xD
Shou is getting on my nerves. I don’t read the manga though… will Shou be more likeable or will the annoyance continue? I’m more curious about Ren since he didn’t do or say much in the first 2 eps.^^
