You’re still sprouting cheese like that when you’re captured by…

.

Raven fights off the Unseelie Court’s hellhound while Lydia runs away. But she ends up being imprisoned with her father anyway. While she reasons out Edgar’s intention to marry her as a joke, Raven appeared in a little dungeon window and said that what Edgar says about his intention to marry her was true. Anyway, Raven instructs them to just go along with whatever Huskley says.

Ultraman!!! Ultraman is in this anime too!?!?!

.

Not that she has any choice since her father was threatened if she doesn’t lead them to the sword. But of course, Edgar shows up and saves her. they went around some more and eventually found a pool where the sword was being kept. Because the silver key (which Raven said that Edgar also has) mentioned that it would require a blood sacrifice, Lydia beat him to the sword because she thinks that he was intending to make her into the blood sacrifice. But Edgar used himself as a blood sacrifice and he disappeared and became a prisoner of the water merrow.

Geez… you’d think they’d have hotter dudes (see previous screenshot) when the chicks look like this.

.

Lydia traveled down to underwater and found Edgar. They ended up negotiating with the sea merrow’s queen. Apparently, Edgar offered herself as a sacrifice because he realized that the noble sword didn’t have the star in the jewel so he wouldn’t be able to claim it. Lydia agreed to have them acknowledge Edgar as the earl and give him a star in echange for her soul. But he asked them to trade with his star – which was the brand on his tongue when he was turned into a slave when he was a kid.

A month later, Edgar has been acknowledged by the queen (of England) as the Blue Knight Earl and Lydia lives in London with her father. Then Edgar commissioned Lydia to be his own fairy doctor again.

And now that everything’s fine, Edgar can return to doing what he does best: sprouting cheesy lines at Lydia.

.

Thoughts:

I was kinda disappointed that Edagr wasn’t full of his flowery language pick-up cheese in this episode. I live for the cheese that are Edgar’s lines! They’re a constant source of joy for me watching episodes of this show. I think it was kinda weird that the episode actually ended up like that. I was expecting the whole season who be filled with nothing more than Edgar and Lydia’s journey to get the noble sword. But yeah… he’s the earl now. Then what? More plot twists I guess. But then again, the first three episodes introduced many plot twists already that are unresolved until now.

Also, I actually thought that, no matter how many times Edhgar says that he’s a fake, I really thought that he’s the real thing. Meaning that he’s a true descendant of the Blue Knight Earl. It was kind of a letdown that he isn’t. but not so much. Also, I was kinda shocked that he really intended to make Lydia into a sacrifice… did he really? There really wasn’t anyone else is there? Unless Raven was a completely willing sacrifice since Edgar can’t be the blood sacrifice and claim the title of Blue Knight Earl. Or am I wrong on both counts…
