Junjou Romantica 2 04 ~The Mouth Is The Gateway To Misfortune~
Posted by biankita on November 17, 2008

Ummm… it’s probably just me, but no matter how much I look at it, they look nothing like newlyweds from the 50s.
.
Nowaki and Hiroki have been living together but they have very different schedules from one another – Nowaki is busy with his parttime job and his residency (?) in the hospital and Nowaki is an assistant professor in the university already. Anyway, Nowaki starts thinking about that they should have more quality time together.
.

That’s a hell of change of pace.
.
At one point, Nowaki delivered something Hiroki forgot at to bring to the university, where Miyagi started teasing them. When Miyagi called Hiroki by his first name, Nowaki starts reflecting as to how virtually no one calls Hiroki by his first name. And him being his seme who only calls him as Hiro-san thinks that it’s because they’re still not on the same level so he was kinda desperate to catch up with him.
.

Wai! The sight of Miyagi just makes me so happy *^_^*
.
After his shift in the hospital, Hiroki texted him so they can have breakfast together. While walking, they bumped into Usami who calls Hiroki by his first name. While they were talking about peaches (more fruit?) Hiroki’s mother sent Usami. Nowaki gets jealous because Usami can call Nowaki by his first name. At that point, Nowaki just told Usami that Hiroki didn’t need any of those and dragged Hiroki away.
.

I think I greeted an ex-boyfriend like this once too.
.
That night, after Nowaki’s obsessive behavior of calling Hiroki by his first name, they got to talk about Nowaki’s obsession to “catch up with him” and said that it was natural since he has four years on him and he couldn’t forgive himself to slow himself down just to wait for him. Anyway, Hiroki also explored the topic of Nowaki’s obsession of probably thinking that they should do more couple-like things. Nowaki took it as Hiroki’s dreams for their relationship and promised him that they’ll be doing that in the furture, much to the tsun-tsun’s Hiroki’s protests.
.
Thoughts:

Lemme guess what it is… it’s “mah uke”. Am I right?
.
That’s a hell of a reversion back to previous volumes/acts. Romantica is already on volume 6 and this act is just at volume 4. Not that it distorts the pace of the story or anything. I was actually expected it since the bulk of season one was focused so much on the Romantica couple. To be honest, I’m quite relieved that despite Romantica being my favorite pairing, I was getting kinda sick of them. Maybe that they have too much dorama going on.
I really like Nowaki as a character but he was just as annoying in this episode as Hiroki is throughout the series. I wonder why I was actually on his side when I read the manga but got irritated with him when the episode got released. Probably because his freakish obsessive side was kinda amplified when animated. Oh well.
Anyway, I’m also so happy to see Miyagi, who I adore as a comic relief. (I spent last season watching Miyagi(’s seiyuu) voice a cat.) So I’m very much looking forward to Terrorist! Eventhough I’ve had very little reading on them since they didn’t show up until volume 5. (I’m only on volume 7.)

I’m looking forward to Terrorist as well, but right now they just keep switching between Romantica and Egoist. ;A;

I’m starting to think that they will limit the Terrorist because the uke is a minor. XD But I hope to have more because I like Miyagi’s character a lot.
