Skip Beat 04 ~The Maze of Reunion~

What??? Did Kyoko have plastic surgery that she became unrecognizable all of the sudden?

Despite getting encouragement from her boss at the Daruyama about not giving up, Kyoko really gave up on show business and got a day job. She is working in a gasoline station where Shou’s company shuttle stopped by for gas. She tried to hide herself from him because he would just end up laughing at her for her unsuccessful attempt to pick up her life after him. Her workmate called out to her to greet him (because she seemed to be such a fan when they saw a commercial Shou was in during their lunch break), she tried to stop her, but it was too late because her cap flew off. But Shou didn’t even recognize her and all he did was apologize because he’s not always able to remember the faces of his fans and that she looks like a lot of them. Kyoko got so pissed off at him because he seems to have forgotten all about her when she had done nothing but think about him. Then her boss from the Daruyama just told her to stop depriving herself and just go back into showbusiness.

Ren: the punctuality Nazi

Sawara and Ren were hanging out in a longue waiting for the arrival of an actress. Sawara was despairing that Kyoko still has not showed up despite of what he thought because of the way she stalked him in order to get an audition. Ren just said that they should be happy about that fact because there’s nothing more stupid than let someone who wants revenge in the same profession as he was..Yashiro (Ren’s manager) showed up and told them that the person that they were waiting for has arrived.

At least no one can accuse Kyoko of lacking in motivation.

She showed up the next day at LME and tried to avoid the frontdesk girls and went straight for the Staff Entrance where she bumped into Kamio Kimiko, a famous (old) actress, and got scolded for using the staff entrance despite being a newbie. As punishment, she was asked to carry her luggage for her.. She ended up bumping into Sawara and Ren who were to greet Kamio. Sawara just said that all she needed was to collect points in order to get a debut. He excused himself to tell the President and just told her to finish her task first.

Ren offered help to carry the luggage and Kyoko thought that he wasn’t as bad as he seemed when they first met each other. While they walked, Ren explained to her about the point system and that it was one of the things that the Love Me division was going to be doing  – where she discovered she was a part of. Kamio noticed that she let Ren carry her luggage and gave Kyoko a -10 points for the job that she did. Ren just told her that no matter what the task was, she should have been able to do it by herself no matter how much people would ask to relieve her of the job.

Thoughts:

After secretaries and personal assistants, the frontdesk girls are the most powerful people inside a company… for the simple reason why can open or refuse doors for you.

Finally! Kyoko has come back to LME.

But before that, it was really weird that Shou couldn’t recognize Kyoko just because she dyed her hair. That was all she did. It wasn’t like she got a new nose or anything… -_-”’ I know that there are people who have facial blindness and can’t really recognize people especially when they changed their hair or anything, but geez… that was horrible. They grew up with each other, right?

This episode was kinda boring and dragging but at least it’s starting to progress and the story would be moving forward already. That really took a long time… four episodes.
